POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS
Mark 16:15-20; Acts 3:1-16
Mark 16:15-20 And he said unto them,  Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  (16)  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  (19) So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  (20) And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

HIS NAME IS ABOVE EVERY NAME THAT IS NAMED ––
(Pro 18:10) The name of the Lord  is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.
(Eph 1:16-23) do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: {17} that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, {18} the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, {19} and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power {20} which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, {21} far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. {22} And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all  things to the church,  {23} which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
(Php 2:9-11) Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, {10} that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, {11} and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

THE BODY OF CHRIST (His Church) HAS BEEN
GIVEN POWER
OF ATTORNEY
TO USE JESUS' NAME {The Name is among men!} ––
(Acts 4:12) "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
(Eph 3:15) from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
(Col 3:17) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

FAITH IN JESUS' NAME ––
(Acts 3:16) "And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
(Acts 4:8-10) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: {9} "If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, {10} "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

FAITH IN JESUS' NAME IS DEVELOPED BY ––
A. Putting the Word First –– (2Pet 1:17-21) For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." {18} And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. {19} And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; {20} knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, {21} for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

B. Meditating on the Word ––
(Josh 1:8) "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

C. Acting on the Word ––
(Jas 1:22-27) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. {23} For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; {24} for he observes himself, goes away, and  immediately forgets what kind of man he was. {25} But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. {26} If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. {27} Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

D. Making the decision to live by faith, practice faith ––
(Rom 14:23) But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
(Col 3:17) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
(Heb 5:13) For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

E. Making the decision to practice the love life ––
(Gal 5:6) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

Only then the power in Jesus' Name will become a heartfelt reality.

PETER USES THE POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS ––
(Acts 3:1-12) Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. {2} And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; {3} who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.{4}And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us." {5} So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. {6} Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."(7)And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. {8} So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them; walking, leaping, and praising God. {9} And all the people saw him walking and praising God. {10}Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. {11} Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly amazed. {12} So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
(Acts 4:8-10) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: {9} "If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, {10} "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

THE NEED OF THE NAME FOR US TODAY.
A. Even though the believer has been delivered from the power of darkness, he still lives in a world dominated by Satan.
B. The Name of Jesus is a weapon for us to use.

THE GREATNESS OF THE NAME OF JESUS IS THREEFOLD.
A. The power in His name can only be measured by the power of God. ––
(Heb 1:1-5) God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, {2} has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; {3} who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, {4} having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. {5} For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?

B. His Name was conferred upon Him by the Father ––
(Php 2:9-10) Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, {10} that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

C. He achieved the authority of His Name by conquest ––
(Col 2:15) Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
1. His conquest over Satan in hell ––
(Heb 2:14) Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
2. He not only took the keys, He also took the armor in which Satan trusted and gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven! –– (Luke 11:21-22) "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. {22} "But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. (Mat 16:19) "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

THE WHOLE DELIVERANCE OF MANKIND IS INVESTED IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
HIS NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD.

ALL THE AUTHORITY OF GOD'S WORD IS IN THAT NAME ––
(Rev 19:11-13) Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. {12} His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. {13} He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

A. He has not used that Name since then.
B
. He gave the authority to use the Name to His Church in the earth.
C. The ones who need the Name are the heirs to that Name.
D. The rights and privileges to use the Name of Jesus are ours!
E. When you speak in faith in JESUS Name, Satan has to bow.

EVERY SCRIPTURE CONCERNING THE GREATNESS
OF HIS NAME REVEALS THAT
HE RECEIVED THAT GREATNESS
AFTER HE WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD.
