John 16:7-16; 1John 2:27
1John 2:27 And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you; concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.
John 16:7-16 Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you.  (8) And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  (9) of sin, because they believe not on me;  (10) of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more;  (11) of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.  (12) I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.  (13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.  (14)  He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you.  (15) All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you.  (16) A little while, and ye behold me no more; and again a little while, and ye shall see me.

  1. To help (Rom 8:26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
  2. To teach (John 16).
  3. To reveal (1John 2:27) (Gal 1:16) To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
  4. To empower (2Cor 10:4) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
  5. (Eph 3:16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
  6. (Col 1:11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.

THE ANOINTING WITHIN [1John 2:15-27 read]

  1. The believer has available the anointing to accomplish whatever it takes to overcome the world (1John 5:1-5) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. {2} By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. {3} For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. {4} For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. {5} Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

THE ANOINTING UPON (Acts 1:8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  1. The believer has available the anointing he needs to accomplish what he is called to do (Ex 31:1-6) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, {2} See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: {3} And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workman-ship, {4} To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, {5} And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. {6} And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee...MUST READ THESE (Ex 36:2)(Num 11:16-17)(Luke 9:1)(Luke 10:19-20)

YIELDING TO THE ANOINTING (Eph 4:17) This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye hence-forth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.(Eph 6:9) And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

  1. Gets us ready to receive the Holy Spirit's ministry.
  2. His moving is not automatic just because we clean up our lives (Ephesians 6:10-19 MUST READ).

THE YOKE SHALL BE DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING (Isa 10:27) And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

REVERENCE FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT — John 4:14; 7:38; Isaiah 59:16 (1Kings 6:7) And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor ax nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
A. This is the time of His fullness.

  1. Reverence for the Word and determination to walk in the Spirit (1Kings 6:11-12) And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,{12}Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
  2. We must decide and determine in our hearts not to yield to our flesh.
  3. Then go into God's presence and stay there.
  4. Then the Spirit will come in force for us (Rom 8:26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
  5. The rain is here! (Joel 2:23) Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
  6. Sin will stop the rain (1Kings 8:35) When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
  7. Praying in the Spirit will stop the sin and bring the rain (Mat 26:41) Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. — (Luke 22:40) And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. (46) And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
  8. Break every yoke. Isa. 58:1-14 "Shout loudly! Don't be quiet! Yell as loud as a trumpet! Confront my people with their rebellious deeds; confront Jacob's family with their sin! 2 They seek me day after day; they want to know my requirements, like a nation that does what is right and does not reject the law of their God. They ask me for just decrees; they want to be near God. 3 They lament, 'Why don't you notice when we fast? Why don't you pay attention when we humble ourselves?' Look, at the same time you fast, you satisfy your selfish desires, you oppress your workers. 4 Look, your fasting is accompanied by brawls, arguments, and fistfights. Do not fast as you do today, trying to make your voice heard in heaven. 5 Is this really the kind of fasting I want? Do I want a day when people merely humble themselves, bowing their heads like a reed and stretching out on sackcloth and ashes? Is this really what you call a fast, a day that is pleasing to the LORD? 6 No, this is the kind of fast I want. I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke. 7 I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don't turn your back on your own flesh and blood! 8 Then your light will shine like the sunrise; your restoration will quickly arrive; your godly behavior will go before you, and the LORD's splendor will be your rear guard. 9 Then you will call out, and the LORD will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply, 'Here I am.' You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully. 10 You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday. 11 The LORD will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water. 12 Your perpetual ruins will be rebuilt; you will reestablish the ancient foundations. You will be called, 'The one who repairs broken walls, the one who makes the streets inhabitable again.' 13 You must observe the Sabbath rather than doing anything you please on my holy day. You must look forward to the Sabbath and treat the LORD's holy day with respect. You must treat it with respect by refraining from your normal activities, and by refraining from your selfish pursuits and from making business deals. 14 Then you will find joy in your relationship to the LORD, and I will give you great prosperity, and cause crops to grow on the land I gave to your ancestor Jacob.” Know for certain that the LORD has spoken.

B. He will put desires in your heart through praying in the Holy Spirit (Psa 37:4-7) Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. {5} Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. {6} He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday. {7} Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
