2-THE WORD

BE ROOTED IN THE WORD
Pro. 3:1-8; 6:20-24; 1John 3:23
1John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

KEEP GOD'S COMMANDMENTS
(Pro 3:1) My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: (5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH, TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE
(Pro 3:2) For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
(Rom 8:6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

GROWTH IN A TREE IS IN DIRECT PROPORTION TO THE ROOT SYSTEM
(Pro 3:3) Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
(Mark 4:14-20) The sower soweth the word. {15} And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. {16} And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; {17} And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. {18} And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, {19} And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. {20} And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

A. No root – no results. Thirtyfold rooted – thirtyfold results
(Eph 3:16-17) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; {17} That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
(Col 2:7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

B. The root is the Word.

C. The root is the commandment
(1John 2:5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

GOOD SUCCESS IN THE SIGHT OF GOD AND MAN
(Pro 3:4) So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

GOD'S WORD WILL TAKE OVER
(Pro 3:5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
(Pro 6:20-23) My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: {21} Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. {22} When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. {23} For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE WORD
(Pro 3:6-8) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. {7} Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. {8} It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

A. The Word sees the whole picture–both in the natural realm and spiritual.

B. The Word sees the heart of other men
(Heb 4:12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

C. God will bring us to wholeness if we keep the Word regardless of circumstances.

THE PRESSES WILL BURST OUT –
THEY CANNOT CONTAIN THE BLESSING

(Pro 3:9-10) Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the Firstfruits of all thine increase: {10} So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

WHEN WE FOLLOW Pro. 3:5-7 —
Pro. 3:8-10 ARE THE RESULTS

(Pro 3:5-10) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. {6} In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. {7} Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. {8} It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. {9} Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the FirstFruits of all thine increase: {10} So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

A. Herein is our protection.

B. Pro. 1:32-33 tells us who is destroyed by prosperity – the fool
(Pro. 1:32-33) For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. {33} But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

C. Fools despise wisdom and instruction
(Pro 1:7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

SUCCESS IS THE ABSOLUTE RESULT
(2Pet 1:3-8) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {4} Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. {5} And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; {6} And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; {7} And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. {8}For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A. (Pro 3:7) Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

B. If is isn’t working in your situation then…You haven't done everything.

C. Eph. 6:10 says "finally." The stand must be made!
(Eph 6:10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

D. "We've done all we know to do." … Then learn more!

E. Jas. 1:5 must be carried out according to Pro. 2:1-7.
Jas 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.
Pro 2:1-7 My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you; 2 So as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; 4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures: 5 then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. 7 He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
