10-FAITH

BELIEVING WITH THE HEART
Rom 10:8-10 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Heb. 3:1; 12:1-3

CONSIDER NOT THE BODY ––
Rom 4:19-21 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
2Cor. 5:6-7 Therefore, we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
John 20:24-25 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. {25} The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I WILL NOT BELIEVE.
1. Thomas considered only what he could see and feel.
2. Verse 25–"I will not believe".
3. He could have chosen to believe.
4. Jesus said he was being faithless.

CONSIDER JESUS, NOT JUST YOUR WEAKNESS.
A. All He did, He did for you.
B. All He is doing now He is doing for you
––
John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
C. There is nothing wrong with your faith ––
(Heb 12:2) looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

BELIEVING WITH THE HEART, NOT THE HEAD.
A. Heart faith grows out of the Word ––
(John 15:7 ASV) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
(Col 3:16 ASV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.
B. Fruit is born by the Word going in and power of our confession coming out.
C. God in His desire for man to know Him has formulated His innermost thoughts and purposes into words (the Bible).
D. which we can see with our eyes and hear expounded upon with our ears.

PUT THE WORD BEFORE WHAT THE WORLD SAYS ––
(John 8:28-32) Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. 29}"And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him." {30}As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. {31}Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. {32}"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
(Pro 4:20) My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
(Rom 8:5) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
A. The Word is God speaking to you.
B. The Word takes the place of the unseen Jesus.
C. Meditation on the Word is a visit with Jesus.
D. God and His Word are one!
E. The Word is our contact with God.
F. Letting the Word have dominion (being Word minded) is giving Jesus dominion over our lives.

FAITH MAKES THE WORD PREVAIL.

A. When the Word prevails over our thought processes faith is the result and success is inevitable

Hebrews 10:22-23 let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, 23 let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
B. The Word prevails when we act on it
(James 1:22) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
C. The inward witness grows to maturity only when the Word prevails over our consciousness.
