WHAT FAITH IS!
Mark 11:23-24; Matthew 21:21-22; Luke 6:46-49; James 1:22-24
Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (23) And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (47) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: (48) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (49) But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Hope in man's natural mind is wishful thinking.
Faith is bringing the impossible into the arena of reality by acting on the WORD.
True bible faith simply says about you
what the Word says about you…
spiritually, physically, mentally, financially.
NOW FAITH IS.
A. The principles of faith are the same in any area of receiving the Holy Spirit, healing, finances, etc.
B. We do not receive by hoping or wishful thinking.
ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEITHER JESUS NOR GOD EVER FAILS.
A. If it doesn't work the first time, keep believing – God does not fail –
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
B. God does not change; our prayer does not change God – Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? 1Samuel 15:29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.
C. Faith changes things and circumstances, not God.
BELIEVE AND RECEIVE –
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
A. Believing is an action word.
1. Believing=Acting on the Word.
2. Believing and acting will cause the results to materialize.
B. Faith always says, It is mine; I have it now.
C. Faith never relents nor looks back.
D. Make this your confession:
1. I AM NOT MOVED BY WHAT I CAN SEE;
2. I AM MOVED ONLY BY WHAT I BELIEVE THE WORD
DECLARES AND MY STAND ON THAT WORD.
ACTING ON THE WORD –
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
A. Faith without works is dead.
B. Healed people should act healed.
C. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so –
Whether they feel like it or not.
D. Unbelief is siding against God's Word.
E. Satan will challenge real faith. He will say, Look....
F. Get busy and act on God's Word now.
G. Don't just wait for something to materialize to satisfy your natural senses.
H. Jesus saw their faith; their action was visible –
(Luke 5:18) Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed,
whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.
H. Act as though you believe the Word is true.
I. Matthew 8:17 is not a promise: it is a statement of fact!
Matthew 8:17 that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."
