John 11:41-44 WEB So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, "Father, I thank you that you listened to me.  {42} I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me."  {43} When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"  {44} He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Free him, and let him go." —
John 11:41-44 AMP So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger]. 43 When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! 44 And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go.

  4. Destroy works of Satan - Lk 13:16, Acts 10:38, 1John 3:8 ASV he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
  5. Give abundant life - John 10:10 ASV The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
  6. Confirm His Sonship and Messianic claims - Jn 5:30-36, 10:25, 36-38, 14:10-12, 15:24, 20:30-31, Acts 2:32. John 5:17-19 ASV But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work. 18 For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. 19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.
  7. Confirm God's Word and love - Heb 2:3-4, Mk 16:15-20, 2Cor 12:12, Jn 14:12. John 5:20 ASV For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel.
  8. Prove that God was WITH Him - Acts 10:38. John 3:2 ASV the same came unto him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that thou doest, except God be with him.

  10. Prove the kingdom of God present - Cp 1Cor 4.20. Matthew 12:28 ASV But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you.

  13. Demonstrate the power of the Spirit baptism - Mt 20:22-23, Lk 4:18, Jn 3:34: Cp Mt 3:11, Lk 24:49, Jn 7:37-39. Acts 1:4-8 ASV and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me: 5 For John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence. 6 They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within His own authority. 8 But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
  14. Demonstrate full salvation for body, soul, and spirit -- Mt 4:23-24, 8:17, 9:35, 13:15, Jn 10:10, 1Pet 2:24. Isaiah 53:4-5 ASV Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
