2-BRIGHT CLOUDS

GOD WILL MAKE BRIGHT CLOUDS
Zechariah 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

WHAT IS THE GLORY? WHAT IS THE CLOUD?

A.  The glory appeared – (Ex. 16:10) Now it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

B.  The glory abode six days. The sight was like devouring fire (Ex 24:16-18) Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. {17} The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. {18} So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

C.  Exodus 33:9-23 – God was in the cloudy pillar.

D.  The cloud filled the temple (2Chr 5:12-13) and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets; {13} indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, — (2Chr 6:1) Then Solomon spoke: "The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud."

E. The glory is GOD's HOLINESS OF CHARACTER.

WHERE IS THE GLORY NOW?

A.  Accompanied the birth of Jesus — (Luke 2:9) And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

B.  In Jesus — (Mat 17:1-5) Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; {2} and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. {3} And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. {4} Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." {5} While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

C. Resurrection — (John 11:25) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (40) Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"

D.  Power — (2Pet 1:17) For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

E. We shall appear with Him in glory — (Col 3:4) When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

F. Jesus has given it to us — (John 17:21-24) "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. {22} "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: {23} "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. {24} "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

G.  Jesus was raised by the glory — (Rom 6:4) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

H.  Jesus' voice came out of the glory — (Acts 9:3-4) As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. {4} Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" – (Acts 22:6-8) "Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me. {7} "And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' {8} "So I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.' — (Acts 26:13-15) "at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. {14} "And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' {15} "So I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

I.  Jesus and brethren crowned with glory and honor —(Heb 2:9-10) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. {10} For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

J.  The fire appeared and sat on them — (Acts 2:1-3) When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. {2} And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. {3} Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

K.  The glory shall be revealed in us — (Rom 8:18) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

WHAT WILL IT DO IN US?

A. The creative power is in us — (2Cor 4:1-7) Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. {2} But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. {3} But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, {4} whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. {5} For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake. {6} For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. {7} But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

B.  His riches are in the — (Eph 1:18) the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. — (Eph 3:20) Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. — (Col 1:27) To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

C.  Our needs are met according to His riches in glory — (Php 4:19) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

D.  Seek the kingdom — (Mat 6:33) "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

THE WORD IS FULL OF GLORY – (2Cor 4:4) whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

A.  The Word is part of the armor of light -- (Rom 13:11-12) And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. {12} The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

B.  The glorious gospel is our shoes.

C.  The sun-like splendor shall burn Satan to ash under our feet — (Mal 4:2-3) But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. {3} You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this," Says the LORD of hosts.

SET ON FIRE, GIVEN LIGHT & GLORY — Heb. 1:1-14 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

1.  Ministers a flame — (Heb 1:1-14 text); (Psa 104:3) He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind;
2.  Baptize with the Holy Ghost and with fire — (Mat 3:11) "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
3.  Sun-like splendor — (Hab. 3:4-5) And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. {5} Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.
4.  God is light — (1John 1:5) This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
5.  We are Lights to the world — (Php 2:13-16) for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. {14} Do all things without complaining and disputing, {15} that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, {16} holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
6.  Knowledge of the light of glory — (2Cor 4:4-7) whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
7.  Crown of glory — (Pro 4:9) She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you."
8.  Sun of righteousness — (Mal 4:2) But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
9. Body to be burned — (1Cor 13:3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
10. Tongues of fire — (Acts 2:3) Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
11. Fire from loins upward. This scripture ties the fire and the glory together — (Ezk 1:27-28) Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and down-ward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. {28} Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. — (Ezk 8:2) Then I looked, and there was a likeness, like the appearance of fire; from the appearance of His waist and downward, fire; and from His waist and upward, like the appearance of brightness, like the color of amber.
12. The light of life — (John 8:12) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." — (John 1:4-5) In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. {5} And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. — (Psa 119:130) The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
13. Lightnings — (Zech 10:1) Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.
14. The light had a voice — (Acts 9:1-4) Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest {2} and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. {3} As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. {4} Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" — (Ps 31:16) Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies' sake.
15. The law is light — (Pro 6:23) For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life.
16. When Jesus appears we shall appear with Him in glory — (Col 3:4) When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
17. Put on the armor of light — (Rom 13:11-12) And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. {12} The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
18. He will baptize you in the Spirit and fire — (Luke 3:16) John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
